50st man Zac Smith on weight loss, a year on from surgery

Help

Zac Smith paid for a weight-loss operation in India in 2011 after failing to qualify for the procedure on the NHS in Wales.

Mr Smith, 38, from Rhoose in the Vale of Glamorgan, borrowed family savings to pay for an operation in India to reduce the size of his stomach and his 50st (317kg) weight.

BBC Wales's Week In Week Out catches up with him a year later and he tells how his life has changed.

Week In Week Out is screened on BBC One Wales at 22:35 GMT on Tuesday, 14 February.
