Police called to Cwmffrwd poll as dog bites voters
Police were called to a polling station in Carmarthenshire after one of two escaped dogs bit three voters, a council has said.
The dogs got loose from a nearby house and began growling at voters in Cwmffrwd near Carmarthen.
The council said police and a dog warden attended.
A spokeswoman said: "The polling station was not closed, but it was difficult to get past the dogs until they were taken away."
The assembly election and alternative vote system referendum polls are being held in Wales on Thursday.
It is understood some voters waited in the cars before the dogs were removed from outside the St Anne's polling station in the village at 1030 BST.
Election officers called in the council dog warden and police.
"By the time the dog warden got there, the owners had already been located and they had taken the dogs home with them," said the council spokeswoman.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman added: "Three people received injuries, and the owner was given words of advice, which the victims were happy with."
