Wales unemployment: Figure rises by 3,000 in quarter

The latest figures show that unemployment in Wales has risen by 3,000 in the last quarter.

The jobless figure now stands at 126,000, a rate of 8.6% above the UK average of 7.8 %.

Dr Charles Smith, an economist at Swansea Metropolitan University, says that the trend appears as if it will continue upwards.

He spoke to BBC Wales business correspondent Nick Servini at the Weartech manufacturing company in Pontarddulais, Carmarthenshire.
