Welsh Assembly Government in truancy row
The Welsh Assembly Government has lost sight of truancy at schools, according to a leading academic.
Prof Ken Reid wrote a key report on the subject but says little has been done.
It comes as schools are under increasing pressure to improve performance.
Education minister Leighton Andrews has said there will be zero tolerance of truancy in future.
