CCTV images of axe robber in Halloween mask

A robber who bought a mask from a petrol station then wore it to hold-up the same garage in Cardiff days later has been jailed for five years.

Neil Simons, 27, of Fairwater in the city, was caught because he was the only person to have bought the distinctive Halloween mask.

Cardiff Crown Court heard Simons, who admitted robbery, disguised himself in the same £3.99 mask to return three days later with an axe.

Judge Philip Richards said the cashier's ordeal must have been "absolutely terrifying".

Police released this CCTV footage in November after the robbery.
