'Delays' in Welsh ambulance hospital transfers

Help

In the last two years ambulances spent 80,000 hours more than they should have waiting outside hospitals, statistics show.

Figures obtained by the Welsh Liberal Democrats showed the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport performed worst. Ambulances waited outside for a total of 16,000 hours.

The Welsh Assembly Government said most patients were dealt with in the appropriate time.
