Thieves scupper Newbridge hall restoration

It took campaigners in Newbridge in the Gwent Valleys seven years to secure the funding they needed to save the town's Memorial Hall.

But just as they were about to start restoring it, they've had to step in and save the building again.

The Memo was flooded after thieves stripped lead from the roof, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Volunteers are now trying to repair it as best they can.

Carwyn Jones reports.
