A road closed following a collision in Powys has now been reopened.

Dyfed-Powys Police have said that the A470 near Storey Arms is now open again after investigations into a collision on Tuesday.

Traffic heading for the Royal Welsh Show faced diversions after the road was closed in both directions.

The road was shut between Libanus and the junction with the A4059 near Nant Ddu following the incident, in which two people were hurt.

Police had appealed for people to find another route to the show.

Following the crash, firefighters helped release one of the casualties, a woman, from the wreckage.

She was taken along with a man to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman said the woman passenger was still in a serious condition while the man was treated for more minor injuries.

A Dyfed-Powys Police inspector said the road was closed to allow investigators to examine the site because of the serious nature of the injuries.
