Snow melt triggers Tayside flood warnings

- From the section Tayside and Central Scotland
Flood warnings are in place across parts of Tayside as persistent and heavy rain sweeps across the region.
Environment agency Sepa said the wet weather was expected to last for the rest of the day and would combine with snow melt as temperatures rise.
Flooding is expected from Carse of Lennoch to Lochlane, Glen Lyon, and in between Crieff and Bridge of Earn.
The River Nith has already flooded into part of the West Car Park at Whitesands in Dumfries.
Owners are being urged to remove cars parked there.
Sepa has warned that localised flooding of low-lying land and roads next to rivers in Tayside is likely.
River levels around Crieff and Bridge of Earn were expected to peak between 11:00 and 15:00, but Sepa said that melting snow would keep them high.
Drier weather is forecast for Saturday.
