John Gibson named as pedestrian killed in A9 collision

A pedestrian who was hit by a car and killed on the A9 near Gleneagles has been named by police as John Gibson of Glasgow.

The 79-year-old died after he was hit by a car on the southbound dual carriageway at about 15:20 on Thursday.

Mr Gibson's family said he would be "greatly missed".

Police closed both southbound lanes of the road between Auchterarder and Blackford for some time while investigations were carried out.
