Officer found dead in Alloa police station

A police officer has died at a central Scotland police station.

The 29-year-old woman was found dead in the police premises at Marr Place in Alloa at about 19:40 on Saturday. There are thought to be no suspicious circumstances.

Police Scotland said a full investigation will be carried out and a report prepared for the procurator fiscal.

It is understood that no firearm was involved in the officer's death.

She is thought to be from the Dumbarton area.

The Scottish Police Federation (SPF) has expressed its condolences to her family and said it has officials with them "at this difficult time".
