Two rescued from River Tay after sailboat capsizes

Two people were rescued from the Tay by lifeboat crews after a boat capsized.

The coastguard was alerted when the small sailing vessel got into difficulty near the Tay Road Bridge at about 20:25 on Thursday.

The Broughty Ferry lifeboat was scrambled to the scene and crews righted the boat before towing it back to the Dundee Sailing Club at the shore.

Two people had to be rescued from the water by crews, but were uninjured.
