Woman raped in underpass in Stirling

An investigation is under way after a 19-year-old woman was raped in an underpass in Stirling in the early hours of the morning.

Police said they had received a report of a serious sexual assault sometime between 04:30 and 05:00 at Customs Roundabout, near Laurencecroft.

They have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

The area was cordoned off and officers remained at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Forth Valley are investigating following a report of a serious sexual assault on a 19-year-old woman in the underpass at Customs Roundabout, near Laurencroft in Stirling.

"Inquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information that can assist police with their investigation is asked to come forward immediately."
