Police hunt robber who assaulted woman in Dundee street
Police are hunting a man who assaulted and robbed a woman in a Dundee street.
The attack took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, about 02:30, in the Park Avenue area of Stobswell.
The man had approached the 26-year-old in Baffin Street, and they walked from there along Albert Street to Park Avenue, where he robbed her of a sum of cash, leaving her with head injuries.
The attacker was in his 30s, around 5ft 9in tall and wearing a dark red jacket. Police are appealing for witnesses.
Officers are especially keen to speak to a man in his mid-20s who assisted the woman following the attack, as he may have seen the assailant.
The woman had walked with her attacker through Baffin Street, Craigie Street, Raglan Street, Kemback Street and Albert Street to the rear of an address in Park Avenue, before the attack.
Following the assault, which left the woman with cuts and bruising to her head and cheek, a second man came to her assistance on Park Avenue and flagged down a taxi to take her to hospital.
The victim declined, but the silver Peugeot taxi did take her to nearby Dundonald Street.
Detectives want to speak to both the man who helped and the taxi driver, as both may have seen something or someone useful to their inquiries.
