Police are investigating after a man was assaulted twice in a matter of minutes on a Dundee street.
The 25-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital with head injuries after the back-to-back attacks on Monday at about 13:20.
Police have appealed for witnesses and information about the incidents on Haldane Avenue and Haldane Crescent.
One attacker was in his 20s, wearing a purple hooded top, while the other was in his 40s, wearing a dark hooded top.
Police said the area was busy at the time, with a number of youths in the area.
The victim was walking near the shops on Haldane Avenue when he was approached by the first attacker.
The man, who was in his 20s, 5ft 7in tall, and stocky with short dark hair, spoke to him before assaulting him and walking off towards Kirkton Place.
Moments later, a second man approached the victim on Haldane Crescent and again spoke to him briefly before assaulting him and walking off.
The second attacker was in his 40s, 5ft 4in tall, of stocky build. He was wearing a dark Adidas hooded top with a red motif on the back, dark Adidas bottoms and a pair of Nike trainers.
The victim was taken to Ninewells to be treated for head injuries, but was later released.
Officers carried out forensic examinations of the scene and house-to-house inquiries, and detectives have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident a man has been detained by police following a disturbance at a block of flats in Dundee.
The 31-year-old is assisting police with inquiries after officers were called to Baldovie Terrace at 23:20 on Monday.
Another man, aged 34, was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The area was sealed off with police tape as forensic teams and uniformed officers moved in to examine the scene.
