Friarton Bridge crash driver found after search

A driver who was involved in a crash on the Friarton Bridge in Perth on Saturday night was traced three hours later with a serious head injury.

Emergency crews were called to a one-vehicle crash involving a Nissan Qashqai on the northbound carriageway of the bridge at about 23:25.

However, police were unable to trace the driver of the vehicle.

After an extensive search, the driver was found nearby at about 02:20, having suffered a serious head injury.

He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

Police said his condition was not believed to be life-threatening.
