Police have issued CCTV footage of the last known movements of a missing Falkirk man.

David Paterson has not been seen since he left his home address in the Bainsford area of the town about 09:00 on Monday, 7 April.

Officers have released stills of his last known location, as he walked from the Bankside Industrial Estate into the Castle Road Industrial Estate at 09:05.

They are appealing for any information about the 52-year-old's whereabouts.

The Police Scotland helicopter and dog teams have helped with major overnight search operations for Mr Paterson, who may have travelled to St Andrews or the East Neuk of Fife.

Officers said his family are "very concerned" by his disappearance.

Insp Chris Stewart, who is leading the search, appealed for anyone in the area of the industrial estates in particular to come forward.

He said: "David is 5 foot 3 inches in height, with short dark greying hair.

"He has blue eyes, large eyebrows and a dimple on his chin. He was last seen with stubble, and is of slim to medium build.

"He was wearing a blue fleece, dark denim jeans and light brown shoes. He was carrying a dark red rucksack over his shoulders.

"We are appealing to anyone who has any information on where David may be, or believes they may have seen David, to contact us."
