A blaze which had been burning in 350 tonnes of straw on a Perthshire farm has been brought under control.

Crews had been at the scene at Forteviot Farm since the alarm was raised at 12:45 on Sunday afternoon.

Four appliances from Perth and Auchterarder were deployed after the fire spread from a tractor to a barn holding hundreds of bales of straw.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the fire had been extinguished on Monday evening.

One engine had stayed on the scene through the night into Monday, using a jet to damp down the straw.

Crews had to ferry water to the scene from Water of May, about half a mile away.
