Rock veterans Status Quo are to headline a small Scottish coastal town's music festival this year.
The group - known for hits including Rockin' All Over The World - will play an open air concert at the Montrose Music Festival in May.
It will be the first time the festival has staged an outdoor event on such a scale since it started in 2008.
An arena will be erected on the town's East Links to accommodate thousands of Quo fans.
Status Quo recently released their 100th single since forming in 1968.
'Bigger and better'
Founding member Francis Rossi said: "Playing live, outdoors is what we love to do.
"We're really looking forward to being part of the Montrose Music Festival, which attracts bands from across the UK, and entertaining our Scottish fans.
"It's set to be a special concert."
The festival - which takes place on May 23 and 24 - has in the past attracted acts such as Toploader, Eddi Reader, Deacon Blue and The Proclaimers.
Festival chairman David Paton said the event has grown year on year since it was established, with this year set to be "bigger and better than ever before" as they welcome Status Quo to Montrose.
He added: "We're delighted to confirm them as our headline act."
Early bird tickets to see Status Quo, priced at £37, will be available to buy from later this week.
The rest of the weekend's entertainment is free of charge, with a range of bands of all styles and genres playing at a range of venues in the town.
