Four hurt in two-car Perthshire collision

Four people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash on a country road.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene of the accident involving a red Ford Focus and a grey Renault Megane.

It happened on the B953 near Balbeggie, Perthshire, at around 16:30.

The 45-year-old man who was driving the Focus had to be cut from the vehicle and was taken to Ninewells hospital in Dundee.

He is suffering from chest, leg and arm injuries.

Another 45-year-old man who was the driver of the Megane suffered a lower back injury, while his two female passengers, aged 46 and 17, received minor bruising and a broken collar bone respectively.

All were taken to hospital but none of the injuries are thought to be life threatening, police said.
