A man has appeared in court charged with murdering another man in his home.

Ryan McKechnie, 31, was found dead at the property in James Street, Whins of Milton, near Bannockburn, at about 10:30 last Tuesday.

William Milne Russell, 37, from Bannockburn, was charged with murder when he appeared on petition in private at Stirling Sheriff Court on Monday.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. The case was continued for further examination.

Police officers went to Mr McKechnie's home following concerns that he had not been seen for about three days.
