Police name fatal crash driver

An 85-year-old man who died following a two-car collision on the A90 north of Dundee has been named by police.

Alasdair Cochrane-Dyet, who was from Kirriemuir in Angus, died of his injuries on Friday at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

He had been driving a Skoda when it collided with a Seat at 13:42 near the Petterden sliproad.

Police Scotland said inquiries into the cause of the crash were ongoing and have appealed for witnesses.

The 71-year-old woman, who driving the Seat car, was also taken by ambulance to Ninewells, where she was treated for minor injuries.
