Man sought over Falkirk public indecency incidents

Police are appealing for witnesses following two reports of public indecency in Falkirk on Hogmanay.

In one incident, a woman was walking near the Treddinoch Care Home on Slamannan Road at about 15:10 when a man stopped his car and asked for directions.

As she approached the vehicle she saw him performing a sex act before he drove off.

About 10 minutes later, a similar incident took place in the town.

A woman was walking towards Hallglen from the top of Glenbrae when a man in a car pulled up alongside her and asked for directions.

She saw him performing a sex act before he drove off towards the Hallglen Roundabout and the Lionthorn Estate.

Witness appeal

Police believe the incidents are linked and are urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s, with short dark hair, a side parting and a slim build. He was wearing a dark-coloured shirt.

The car is described as being a red hatchback with faded paintwork. The rear registration plate was either obscured or missing.

Det Sgt Kenny McAndrew said: "Neither victim was assaulted or threatened during this incident but both were left very upset by the man's actions.

"We believe the same person is responsible for these offences and would urge anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in the Hallglen area on Hogmanay afternoon to contact police immediately.

"We are keen to speak to a man who was jogging in the area at the time of the incidents.

"Similarly, anyone with any further information that can help trace the suspect is also asked to get in touch."
