Man 'serious' after car hits tree in Angus

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after the car he was travelling in hit a tree.

The 22-year-old was a passenger in a black Honda Civic which lost control and collided with a tree on the A933 Arbroath to Brechin Road at about 00:40 on Boxing Day.

The 21-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and both were taken to Dundee's Ninewells Hospital.

Their injuries were not thought to be life threatening, Police Scotland said.

The Honda was travelling with a silver Ford Fiesta around half a mile south of the Friockhiem junction when the collision happened.
