A man whose body was recovered from the River Tay has been formally identified following an appeal for information.
The dead man has been named as Stephen Young, 57, from the Dunblane area.
His body was pulled from the water on Friday 6 September, but officers had been unable to establish his identity.
Relatives recognised him through media appeals, which included an artist's impression that had been created by an expert in craniofacial identification.
The coverage attracted calls from members of the public from across the UK and as far afield as Thailand.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Tayside Division wishes to express its thanks to everyone who supported the enquiry and the media for their assistance, which helped lead to Mr Young being identified.
"In addition to the public appeal, officers had carried out enquiries locally, with colleagues nationally and forces overseas in a concerted effort to find out who the deceased was.
"No further information about Mr Young is available and his family has requested that their privacy is respected.
"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
Mr Young's body was recovered from the water on 6 September after being spotted by a member of the public.
