Police car 'hits 13-year-old girl' in Dundee

A 13-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after apparently being hit by a car driven by a police officer.

The unmarked car is said to have struck the young teenager in Longtown Road in Dundee near the junction with Longtown Street at 15:45.

An ambulance took the girl to the city's Ninewells Hospital with injuries to her face, arm and leg.

Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police have issued an appeal for any witnesses to call them on 101.
