Man seriously injured in hit and run in Forfar

A 89-year-old man has been seriously injured in a hit and run incident in Forfar in Angus.

It happened on the B9113 Forfar to Montrose Road at about 19:00.

Police said they were keen to trace the occupants of a grey/silver Vauxhall Vectra seen near to the scene which may have damage to one of its wing mirrors.

The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment. The road was closed as crash investigators carried out inquires into what happened.

Diversions were in place.

Anyone who witnessed the incident was urged to contact police.
