Wimbledon winner Andy Murray will appear in the 75th anniversary issue of The Beano.

In the special edition, Murray faces off against Minnie the Minx in a match he will never forget.

His mother Judy also makes an appearance, chastising her son for forgetting about her as he celebrated after his straight sets victory over Novak Djokovic.

The anniversary issue will also feature a host of other famous faces.

The Beano's editor Craig Graham said: "The Beano celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and we've been working hard to put together an extra special issue that is packed full of menacing, pranks and jokes.

"We always planned to include Andy Murray in this amazing issue - but we've reworked the strip to reflect his historic Wimbledon win."

He added: "The issue will also feature special guest writers and illustrators, celebrity contributions and young comic genius Zoom Rockman's debut Beano strip.

"It's been a real honour to work on this extra special issue and we hope Andy - and all our readers - like it."

The comic has regularly featured celebrities in the past, including Simon Cowell, Chris Evans and One Direction.

The first issue of the comic was released on 30 July 1938.

In September 2009 the 3,500th issue of the publication was released.
