Arbroath lifeboat crew pulls girl from sea near Carnoustie

A girl is reported to be in a critical condition in hospital after she was rescued from the sea off Carnoustie.

The 13-year-old was reported to be in the water at about 20:30 on Monday.

Police and ambulance personnel were called, along with a rescue helicopter. The Arbroath inshore lifeboat was launched.

The lifeboat crew managed to find her and pull her from the water. She has been taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.
