Man injured in Perth building blaze

Perth fire More than 30 firefighters were called to the scene

A man has been injured after a fire broke out at a five-storey building in Perth.

Tayside Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service were called to the property in George Street at 08:17 on Friday.

More than 30 firefighters were involved in bringing the blaze under control.

The road surrounding the building has been closed and motorists have been advised to avoid the area if possible.

An ambulance was requested for one male casualty.

There have been no further reports of any other injuries.
