Woman, 86, seriously injured after Abernethy car crash

An 86-year old woman has been seriously injured following a car crash in Abernethy town centre.

The woman was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa on Perth Road in Abernethy, near to the junction with Main Street, when her car collided with central bollard and lighting column.

Tayside Police said the woman had been taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries.

The road has been closed while an investigation is carried out.

Officers said they were keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the Corsa being driven on the Newburgh to Abernethy Road prior to the collision.
