Teenager charged with attempted murder following Dundee attack

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a 30-year-old man needed hospital treatment following an attack in Dundee.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was held after the incident in the city's Wentworth Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency crews treated the injured man at the scene before rushing him to Ninewells Hospital.

The 15-year-old boy was later charged with assault and attempted murder.

Tayside police said he was due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday.

A spokeswoman for the force added: "Tayside Police attended at Wentworth Avenue at around 01:00 on Saturday following reports of a disturbance.

"A 30-year-old man suffered injuries as a result of the incident. A 15-year-old youth has been charged in connection with the incident and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
