Bomb squad alert after weapons found in Brechin house

A police investigation is under way after weapons and ammunition were found at a house in Brechin.

Bomb disposal experts were called in to the Westmuir area on Wednesday and the scene was cordoned off.

Tayside Police said a 51-year-old man was assisting police with their inquiries.

A spokesman for the force added: "A report on the matter will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.''
