Drugs worth £10,000 seized in Falkirk police crackdown

Central Scotland Police carried out 24 search warrants in the Falkirk area since last November

Police in Falkirk have recovered more than £10,000 worth of drugs following a series of raids across the force area.

Officers executed 24 Misuse of Drugs search warrants at the addresses of suspected drug dealers since the beginning of November last year.

The force said they had seized drugs including heroin, cannabis and diazepam as a result, worth in excess of five figures.

A four-figure-sum in cash was also seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Central Scotland Police said the drugs were "undoubtedly intended for the streets of Forth Valley".

Ch Insp Alan Waddell, Falkirk Sub-Area Commander, said: "These warrants have been executed as a direct result of information provided to us by local residents.

"Central Scotland Police has acted upon the concerns raised by members of our community and I would urge anyone with information on those involved in drug dealing to come forward."
