A woman has been attacked by man while out walking in a Stirlingshire village.

Central Scotland Police said the 24-year-old was assaulted in Throsk on Kersie Road, between 21:30 and 22:00 on Wednesday.

Officers said the woman had been walking towards South Alloa.

They said they were keen to trace a man described as 20-30 years old and of slim build. He was wearing dark track suit bottoms, a dark hooded top and gloves.

The woman was dressed in a beige cardigan, jeans and Ugg Boots.

Det Sgt Frank McCann said: "We are keen to trace anybody who was in or passing the Throsk area around about the time of this attack and who may have seen a woman distressed or being approached by a man.

"The community should be assured that incidents of this nature are thankfully rare and this enquiry has our full commitment of resources and expertise."
