Woman rescued from house fire in Camelon

Firefighters have rescued a woman from a blaze at a house near Falkirk that was thought to have been empty.

The woman was discovered after crews were called to the two-storey building on Carmuirs Drive in Camelon, at about 18:00.

A bedroom on the first floor of the property was on fire.

Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was discovered and found to be suffering from the effects of smoke.

She was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for treatment.
