Montrose pedestrian, 79, hit by car dies in hospital

A 79-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a car in Montrose has died from his injuries in hospital.

John Sangster, known locally as Gordon, was seriously hurt after being knocked over by a silver coloured car in Baltic Street at about 13:05 on Saturday.

Tayside Police said Mr Sangster died on Tuesday night at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

The force said their inquiries into the incident were continuing.

Officers said they would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
