Man killed in Angus car crash named as William Watson
A 79-year-old man killed after his car collided with a fence in Angus has been named as William Watson.
Tayside Police said Mr Watson, from the Wellbank area, died following the incident on the Newbigging to Carlungie road on Sunday night.
His car, a silver-coloured Volvo, had been travelling westwards some time between 22:30 and 23:40, when it left the road.
Emergency services were called but Mr Watson died at the scene.
The police said no-one else was involved in the crash and inquiries into the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident were on-going.
Officers said they were keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Watson's silver-coloured Volvo in the area at the time of the crash.
