Falkirk and Stirling drain thefts see three in court

Central Scotland Police have arrested three men following a spate of drain cover thefts in Falkirk and Stirling.

The trio are alleged to have stolen about 80 of the metal covers throughout the region.

Officers said the men, aged 18, 19 and 22, would appear before Falkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

The cast iron drain covers are estimated to be worth about £8 each in scrap metal, but cost more than £200 to replace.
