Arbroath car fire attempt prompts extra police patrols

Tayside Police are increasing the number of foot patrols in Arbroath after two men attempted to set a car on fire in the town.

The force is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place in Camus Road at about 23:30 on Thursday.

Officers said the pair were disturbed before the car could be destroyed.

The two men, who were wearing hooded tops, fled towards the town's Montrose Road.
