Police have scaled down their search for missing prisoner Lee Cyrus in woodlands near Perth.
About 30 officers and a helicopter were involved in the operation around Kinnoull Hill on Tuesday after a sighting of a man matching the 47-year-old's description.
Cyrus absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire on 9 October.
Tayside Police said they would continue to carry out visible patrols in the Kinnoull and Potterhill areas.
Officers are also conducting house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.
Police issued an public appeal to help trace Cyrus, also known as Ivan Leach, after he failed to return to North Sea Camp open prison in Boston from day release.
Officers said they had intelligence suggesting he could be in the Tayside area.
He is described as white, about 5ft 11in tall and stocky, with cropped hair and brown eyes.
A police spokesman said: "We would ask members of the public to be vigilant and not to approach him, but report any sightings to the police.
"Any information members of the public can provide could be crucial to apprehending this man."
Meanwhile, investigations are continuing into two break-ins during which women were attacked in Perth last week.
On Sunday 14 October, a man assaulted and robbed a 68-year-old woman in her house in Bridgend Court.
The following day a 23-year-old woman was threatened and sexually assaulted by an intruder at her home in Potterhill Gardens.
