Perth woman injured during attempted robbery in her home

A 68-year-old was injured in an attempted robbery in her Perth home, police have said.

The woman was confronted by a man who had gained entry to her property in Bridgend Court at 19:30 on Sunday.

The man - who was wearing a black jacket, gloves and balaclava - demanded money, but fled the scene empty-handed.

The victim sustained a facial injury and was treated by paramedics. Police have appealed for information about the "despicable attack".

A spokesman for the Tayside force said: "We are certain that the community shares our disgust at this man's actions and we would appeal to them for their assistance in identifying him.''

The man was described as being about 5ft 8in tall, and of medium build.
