Cyclist dies in fall during club bike ride near Dunkeld

A cyclist has died after falling from his bike on a Perthshire road during an organised club bike ride.

Thomas Anderson, from Bathgate, was part of a large group of cyclists on the unclassified road between Rotmell and Dunkeld on Saturday when he fell.

The 48-year-old was airlifted to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow, but died from his injuries.

Tayside Police said no other cyclists were involved and investigations were continuing into the circumstances.
