Police charge two following Dundee disturbances

Police have arrested two people following two nights of disturbances in the Dryburgh area of Dundee.

An 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old male youth have been charged in connection with the disorder.

Tayside police said the disturbances in Dryburgh Street, Linton Road and Ettrick Crescent areas had caused "fear and alarm" to residents.

Officers said their enquiries were continuing and expected to charge more people in connection with the incident.

Ch Insp Shaun McKillop said: ''These are not random incidents, but are incidents that have taken place between small identified groups of people.

"Such behaviour will not be tolerated and the local community can be assured that officers are following all positive lines of enquiry to ensure that all those responsible, both youths and adults, are identified and held to account.''

Tayside Police said additional uniform patrols were being carried out in the Dryburgh area and officers would be working closely with local community wardens.

A mobile CCTV van has also been deployed to the area.
