Men sought after 'racist' attack in Dundee

Police are hunting for two young men who racially abused a group of people in Dundee city centre before attacking one of them.

The incident happened in Albert Square shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The suspects shouted racist remarks at the group, which was made up of men and women of Pakistani origin, and went on to punch and kick one of the men.

Tayside Police described the assault as "unprovoked" and have appealed for witnesses.

The pair, who are both described as being between 16 and 20 years of age and about 5ft 8in tall with short, dark hair, continued to shout offensive remarks as they left the area.

One of the suspects was of a slim build and was wearing a black hoodie and dark jeans, while the other, who was carrying a black guitar case, wore a light-coloured tracksuit possibly with a blue band to the front or sleeves.

Meanwhile, officers with Tayside Police have also appealed for information after a 35-year-old man was attacked at an address in the city's Fleming Gardens East.

The victim was taken to Ninewells Hospital after being assaulted by three men at about 15:10 on Sunday.

His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
