Police have confirmed the identity of a man who was killed when his glider crashed during take-off at an airport in Kinross on Tuesday.

He has been named as 49-year-old Mark Dickson, from Troon.

Emergency services were called to the Scottish Gliding Centre at Portmoak Airport at about 13:30.

Mr Dickson was pronounced dead at the scene after being found upside down in the Nimbus 3 aircraft. No one else was hurt in the incident.
