Boy 'critical' after being hit by car in Perth

A seven-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after being knocked down by a car in Perth.

Tayside Police he was hit by a silver vehicle in Strathtay Road at about 15:30.

He was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary.

The road was closed to allow a crash investigation and scene examination to take place. Officers have urged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

Inspector Julie Robertson said: "The boy was conveyed to hospital, where his condition is described as critical."
