Driver reverses truck into David Geddes Quarry

A pensioner has been killed after reversing his dumper truck into a quarry.

The 76-year-old was driving the 25-tonne articulated vehicle when the incident, in Angus, happened shortly after 11:30.

It happened at the David Geddes Quarry, near Friockheim.

Paramedics were called to the quarry, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

The victim has not been named.
