Murder inquiry as man dies after fight outside Dundee pub

A murder inquiry has been launched after a 29-year-old man died following a fight outside a pub in Dundee.

The incident occurred outside the Maltman in Mains Road, Dundee, at about 23:00 BST on Friday.

Police were called to the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service who were treating the man. He was taken to Ninewells Hospital where he died.

Tayside Police said later a 35-year-old man had been detained on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody.

Officers closed the pub and part of Mains Road, both of which were being treated as crime scenes.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw a fight outside the pub to contact them.
