Dollar 'parking error' leaves car in burn

Car in Dollar Burn The driver of the Jaguar was unhurt in the incident

A Jaguar car plunged into a burn after its driver made what is believed to have been a parking error.

The car had to be towed out of the water in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, by a recovery vehicle.

But the 77-year-old male driver escaped with only his pride hurt after Sunday's incident.

Bystanders said he had been attempting to park the car when it reversed down the embankment and ended up in the water.

Several people were sitting enjoying the sunshine on the banks of the burn at the time.

Central Scotland Police were informed, and about an hour later a specialist recovery firm arrived to haul the car back onto the road.

A police spokeswoman confirmed: "Police were made aware of an incident in Dollar, involving one car in the burn at West Burnside. The car was recovered.

"There was no injury, and nobody has been charged. The driver was 77-years-old."
